Doctor Babor Hyaluron Cream

Our #3 Choice

Doctor Babor claims that its Hyaluron Cream has a lightweight texture and provides a multi-dimensional moisturizing effect for smoother, more radiant skin. It contains HY-3 peptides, a combination of low, medium and high-molecular hyaluronic acid, and natural biopolymers. It sounds promising, but does this product have the scientific proof to back up its claims?

Introduction

As we age, our skin produces less natural humectants (such as hyaluronic acid) and starts to dry up, resulting in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. The generic moisturizer that used to work for us is no longer as effective, and we have to start looking for better, more potent alternatives. Hyaluronic acid, collagen, and retinol are some ingredients to look for in a powerful formula that will deliver results.

We were excited to review Doctor Babor Hyaluron Cream because it lists a unique combination of ingredients: HY-3 peptides; low, medium and high-molecular hyaluronic acid; and natural biopolymers. These sound promising, and we were excited to find out what each of these ingredients does for the formula. However, we were left puzzled, as we couldn’t find any explanation on the website about what these ingredients include or what benefits they provide.

While some customers mentioned that this cream is too lightweight for the dryer winter months, it did have some good reviews, so we decided to look into it further. Read more about why it made it into our #3 spot on this list.

Ingredients

This hyaluronic acid cream is vegan, sustainable, and made without harmful additives. We really liked that this brand offers a unique combination of ingredients, but when looking to learn about them, we encountered a scarcity of information on the website. We were left perplexed and had to turn to additional sources to piece together what information we could.

The list of ingredients is a bit too vague. For example, this product includes biopolymers, which is a general name for several naturally occurring biomolecules, such as collagen and hyaluronic acid. These are obviously ingredients we would love to see included in the formula, so why not just tell us what exactly is in it? Additionally, we expected to see ingredients such as retinol included in the formula to supplement and enhance the benefits provided by hyaluronic acid, but were disappointed.

The percentage of each active ingredient was not mentioned either, which is unfortunate, as the quantity of active ingredients is what essentially determines whether they will produce the desired effect.

Key ingredients:

  • 3-fold Hyaluronic Acid - hyaluronic acid is the skin’s natural hydrator. The different molecular weights are meant to provide hydration for different layers of the skin.
  • HY 3-Peptides - promote the skin’s natural production of hyaluronic acid.
  • NMF-Moisturizing-Complex - a combination of amino acids and derivatives that help to replicate the natural moisturizing factor of the skin.
  • Biopolymers - provide antimicrobial properties and protect the skin .

How To Use

After cleansing, apply to the face, neck, and décolleté in the morning and/or evening. Gently massage into skin.

Price

This is slightly more expensive than our first two picks at $69 for a 50ml bottle.

Guarantee

For purchases made on the US site, refunds or exchanges are allowed within 14 days of delivery date. Full refunds are issued for unopened products in sellable condition; gently used products may only be exchanged for another item of similar value. All sales are final after 14 days.

This is a strict return policy which doesn’t guarantee the customers’ satisfaction. The time given to return the product is not necessarily enough to decide if it works for you, so be very sure of your choice before purchasing this cream.

Conclusion

We are really on the fence about Doctor Babor Hyaluron Cream. On the one hand, it is a sustainable brand and utilizes only natural ingredients in its formula. There is nothing that could potentially irritate skin or cause harm, such as parabens or preservatives.

What we didn’t like so much was the brand’s vagueness and lack of transparency, both in terms of the quantity of active ingredients and their actual purpose in the formula. These ingredients have impressive names but no information or clinical data is available on the website to explain their benefits or back up their efficacy. Additionally, we would have liked to see ingredients such as collagen and retinol included in this cream, as they work synergistically with hyaluronic acid to provide enhanced anti-aging benefits.

Another point we found problematic was the fact that they only have a 14-day return policy and no money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with this cream, you can exchange it for a different product of a similar value, but only if the product is “gently used”. In other words, by the time you have used enough product to deem it ineffective, it’s too late.

We did find some positive reviews for this product, which is why we included it on the list and gave it the #3 spot. However, with only a small variety of active ingredients and no knowledge of what they actually are or how much of them is used in the formula, we would be careful purchasing this cream, as it may not be effective for everyone.
