Vivier® GrenzCine Neck Cream

Our #5 Choice

Vivier® GrenzCine Neck Cream is a firming cream with a patented ingredient, and does not contain harmful chemicals such as paraben and fragrances. Does this medium grade firming cream’s standard ingredients, however, justify it’s extravagant price?

Introduction

Coming in at #5, Vivier® GrenzCine Neck Cream’s patented ingredient Polyamine-DAB®, according to the Vivier website, was actually engineered in a Vivier Pharma lab. It is, according to the site, clinically proven to reduce outer signs of aging, and plays a role in the prevention of hypertrophic scars. This product is paraben free, cruelty free and contains no fragrances.

We have two main points of contention with this product. The first is the extremely steep price, for the small amount of product. The second is the lack of information about active ingredients, and the lack of inclusion of more patented components. Besides those two issues, we are always surprised to see high end products without a customer guarantee.

The website, which proffers a pretty extraordinary product with a top notch formula, for some reason does not offer much information about the product, so most of what we found was through other sites that sell this product, or else through extra research.

Ingredients

Aside from the Polyamine-DAB®, there is a lack of patented ingredients, and it is not very clear which ingredients are the active ones. Based on our experience with similar products in the past, we picked out the ingredients we thought stood out the most, but truthfully there was no information about which ones were active and which were not.

  • Polyamine-DAB® - clinically proven to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and increase skin’s firmness and volume
  • Tripeptide-10 Citrulline - ensures uniformity in fibril diameter and increases skin suppleness because of a better cohesion of collagen fibres
  • Shea Butter - skin softening, healing, and anti-inflammatory properties
  • Squalane - Restores skin’s natural moisture balance, keeping it soft and supple, fights free radicals.
  • Edelweiss (Leontopodium Alpinum Callus) Culture Extract - medically proven to provide antioxidant and anti- aging effects

How To Use

With fingertips, gently massage into clean, dry skin on the neck, décolleté and jawline every morning and evening before any creams or makeup.

Price

At $230 for 40ml/1.35fl. Oz., this cream is the most expensive product on our list.

Guarantee

This product has a fairly rigid 30-day return policy, which necessitates the product being untouched and in its original packaging. There is no customer guarantee to be found .

Conclusion

Our main issue with this product is the fact that the price is so steep. In our eyes, there is no way a skin care product should ever cost this amount, whether it’s being endorsed by a celebrity or claims to have the highest quality ingredients. In the end of the day, no skincare product should cost so much money to make, that the manufacturer has to charge an exorbitant price in order to cover the costs. Skincare products, as well, do not ever use ingredients that can drive the cost up to such a level. Therefore, when a product is this expensive we believe that it means one of two things: either the company is trying to sell you on the brand as opposed to the product, or else the product contains some hidden miraculous anti-aging ingredient from the long sought fountain of youth. While the latter sounds quite appealing, the former is the more likely explanation - and if that’s the case, no customer should have to pay for a name printed on a bottle. If you’re not paying for the content of the formula (including all the research, patented ingredients etc.), it’s probably not worth your time or money.

We believe that this product is actually fairly well crafted. It contains the patented ingredient, and some other excellent active ingredients. It could have even been closer to the top , had it not been for the price. However, the company made it difficult for us to even discern these positive points. There was no specific information about the dosage amounts of each product, or which were actually active or not. Luckily, we are experienced enough to take a well informed guess about which are the active ones, and if our guess is correct, then the fact still remains that the formula seems to be a very well put together one. The real issue? It still ranks as an average skincare formula in comparison with many other brands, including all the brands on this list. So well put together products don’t necessarily make them special, just commendable to the point that they may make it onto a “top 5” list one day.

At the end of the day, we had to put this cream at the bottom of the list mainly because of the pricing. Maybe if we had more information with which to work it could have moved up in ranks, but at this point it stands at #5.
