Cult51 Neck And Décolleté Firming Cream

Our #3 Choice

Cult51 Neck And Décolleté Firming Cream has a lot of the factors that we immediately look for when researching firming creams. On the other hand, there are also things that we don’t deem to be acceptable in a healthy skincare product. What are the pros and cons of this product?

Introduction

Coming in at #3, the Cult51 Neck And Décolleté Firming Cream was a tough one to rate. When examining this neck firming cream, there were some really good additions that we were very impressed by. The addition of stabilized vitamin-C, which is a concentrated form of this vitamin which is proven to have the ability to prevent pigment discoloration and help produce endogenous collagen. The addition of some other essential oils including argan extract and a variety of flower extracts help push this product towards the top of this list.

There are a few issues we had with this product. On one hand, the vitamin-C is supposed to have the ability to promote collagen production within the body. On the other hand, the ‘soluble’ collagen that is added to this topically applied product is most likely not going to be able to do anything more than providing good moisture for the skin. Without any extra peptides for breaking down the collagen strings, they are too large to penetrate the epidermis and therefore will have little to no effect on the skin. The addition of fragrance into this product is also an issue that made us rethink putting this at the top. Any skincare company still using this ingredient should know better at this point, with so many studies proving the harmful effects it can have on users.

Read on to find out the rest of our thoughts on this interesting product.

Ingredients

The non-natural fragrances contained in this product lowered our consideration of it quite a bit. Besides this harmful ingredient, the addition of collagen without a peptide for breaking down the larger protein molecules renders the addition nearly useless. Key ingredients:

  • Green Tea Extract - antioxidant, anti- inflammatory, contains polyphenols that help reduce sebum secretion
  • Collagen - for plump, youthful looking skin. Protein which serves as a building block for healthy skin.
  • Vitamin-C concentrate - prevents discoloration, and stimulates endogenous collagen production
  • Caffeine - anti-inflammatory, vasoconstrictive, can decrease redness and swelling
  • Argan Extract - rich in antioxidants, can help prevent environmental damage

How To Use

Morning and evening, apply a small amount in a gentle upward motion onto the neck and chest area until absorbed.

Price

Going at $135 for a 30 ml/ 1fl. oz., this is a pretty expensive purchase, even for a higher end, quality product like Cult51.

Guarantee

There is no customer satisfaction guarantee, only a 14-day return policy for people who experience buyer’s remorse and have not opened up the product yet. This does not sit well with us, as we expect some form of minimal guarantee if a company wants to show us that they are very sure of their product’s realistic, positive results.

Conclusion

The collagen issue, the fragrance issue, and the fact that this product costs so much are some gaping holes in the mostly well formulated Cult51 product. The lack of guarantee is always an issue for us, as customers should be able to feel reassured by the company's confidence in their own products.

What we did like about this product was the fact that it was formulated for all skin types. Although sometimes general, non-targeted creams can be too non-specific to be as effective as they might be, this one seems to cover all of the skin-firming bases. Collagen production encouragement, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agents, and caffeine for vasoconstrictive action, all go a long way in aiding skin tightening and firming.

The studies that this cream claims to be part of were a point of contention for us. As much as we want to believe all the clinical studies that the brand claims that their products have undergone, we can only believe a claim if there happens to be solid evidence to back it up. Why are there no links to the actual studies on the website? Instead of providing solid evidence, the company decided to just publish a general summary of the (alleged) findings. It would be more pertinent, in our opinion, to provide better clarification for the consumers in the form of links to the actual studies, so that they may draw their own conclusions directly from the source if they so choose.
