We very much like that this eye cream contains a plethora of natural ingredients, does not contain any parabens or potentially dangerous ingredients and comes in a hygienic pump bottle. However, there are no clinically proven ingredients. This makes it difficult to truly judge its efficacy. Additionally, while ingredients such as collagen and elastin look impressive, the reality is that they are much too large to cross the skin barrier. Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 - A protein that increases healing and tissue regeneration.
Collagen - Derived from marine collagen, it is said to aid cell regeneration.
Elastin - Derived from marine elastin, it helps the skin stay elastic by aiding in the binding of moisture.
Lactic Acid - Derived from the fermentation of milk, it is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that acts as a keratolytic, helping to encourage the shedding of cells in the stratum corneum to encourage new cell growth. Also acts as a hygroscopic substance (humectant), having the ability to attract or absorb water molecules from the surrounding environment.
Konjac Mannan - Also known as glucomannan, derived from the ground root of the tree which grows in southeast Africa and Asia, it acts as a humectant to maintain the water content of the skin and attract moisture to the skin creating volume in the skin's appearance.
Lemon Peel Extract - Derived from the peel of the lemon, it contains ascorbic acid, vitamin A and phytochemicals called limonoids. It has antiseptic and astringent properties which counteract acidity on the surface to brighten dull skin.
